Week 6 - Tuesday

I hit the pool after work for a 1600 meter swim. For the first 500 meters or so it felt like I'd never been in the water before in my life. Balance was wrong, breathing was wrong, everything felt off. I finally settled in and got a good rhythm going, but the swim took 44 minutes, which is awful. I've recently been swimming only two days a week and I can tell I need some renewed focus on it. I was planning to emphasize my swim training while recovering from the marathon in May, but I may need to re-think that and squeeze in one more session per week now.

After my swim I did a quick change and jumped on a bike upstairs for a 20 miler. I kept the cadence high, between 95-100, and finished in just over an hour. Will be glad when the weather is nice enough to get in some of these weekday bike workouts outside.
